Accountabilities :
Financial Accounting and Compliance
-Take accountability for the integrity and accuracy of the financial information provided by the function.
-Participate in forecasting and budgeting activities for the business and the accounting department.
-Provide support to the Finance Director/CFO in preparing, reviewing and analysing actual, forecasted and budgeted financial results.
- Research and integration of existing and developing GAAP and statutory reporting to ensure company compliance with authoritative and regulatory requirements.
-Partner with the business and other stakeholders to understand the underlying business operations and processes to augment the integrity of financial controls and transactions.
-Assist with the banking and audit relationships.
Process Engineering
-Implement new best practice processes within the controllership team as set within the functional strategy.
-Improve and re-engineer existing processes to drive efficiencies across the controllership functional strategy.
Business Partnering
-This position continuously interacts with business leaders and functional heads, as well as the VPs, CEO, CFO, Finance Director and Finance Manager Network. The ability to lead, to partner and to influence is critical to the success of this role.
-From time to time provide ad hoc insightful and value adding analysis and support to the stakeholders note above on items ranging from the cash conversion cycle to return on assets and from liquidity to technical accounting.
-Assists in the identification of issues, trends and opportunities impacting the business and strategies, which enhance profitability, reduce cost and / or improve efficiency.
Team Leadership
-Responsible for performance and development of managers and staff to learn, grow and be successful in roles.
-Participate in the development and implementation of company and department objectives, and align, set and monitor career and incentive performance goals for the Controllership team.
Education:
-Bachelor Degree in Accounting degree or related finance field
-Proven Accounting background (CPA/CA/CIMA/ACA/ACCA) required
-Masters / MBA in finance preferred but not essential
-Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, techniques and theories of financial reporting and internal control
Experience:
-5 years + of core accounting, financial analysis, process analysis experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment, with emphasis on financial and accounting application, financial and operational controls.
-Big 4 preferred but not essential
Computer Skills
Must be IT proficient in MS Office and Oracle 11i or R12e-business suite or any other similar ERP.
Languages:
Language proficiency in English and Arabic.
